Our health and wellbeing are two things we all had to take better care of when life as we knew it completely changed this year. With the COVID-19 pandemic confining us to our homes, the nation’s mental and physical health has, unsurprisingly, been impacted. Two impressive entrepreneurs have capitalised on the importance of providing solutions to wellbeing problems, even more so as we live through a global pandemic.

Jas Bagniewski – co-founder of Eve Sleep and new brand, Lover – is making a difference in more ways than one when it comes to the wellbeing of the nation. Both ventures launched by Jas have managed to tap into the theme of wellness that has become increasingly relevant this year. Lover, the sexual wellbeing app he launched in February, has seen huge commercial success since launching weeks before the nationwide lockdown.

“It’s surprising that one in four adults suffer with sexual dysfunctions and 40% of adults have sexual complaints, which is one of the leading reasons for divorce around the world. Sex therapy is actually incredibly effective for solving these problems but because of the taboos around the subject, many couples don’t realise just how easy it is to find a solution to their problems. Therefore, people continue to live with these painful and harmful afflictions. What Lover does is make these solutions more accessible,” he said. The Lover app has been downloaded in over 100 countries.

Jas is passionate about building businesses and creating successful branding. “I love building great companies. When I was CEO of Eve, I’d get great satisfaction in seeing the organisation grow, our brand exposure increasing and little things like our vans on the streets delivering the sleep products. Events like Elite Business Live can act as a great learning tool, whether that’s discovering how other companies started up or what disruptive businesses are out there.”

As the boundaries of work and home become increasingly difficult to define, many people are more stressed than ever – especially over their finances – during the pandemic. Platforms like Mintago aim to directly address financial wellbeing in a holistic and unbiased way for employees at mass. Chieu Cao, Founder at Perkbox and now Mintago, believes this technology will reshape people’s relationship with money in ways that are lasting and effective, and ever so critical at a time like this.

“There’s a huge demand for supporting employees directly, holistically, and in an unbiased manner. Just like there is no one employee that is the same, there is no-one-size-fits-all financial plan for them. Mintago approaches financial wellbeing through this employee-centric and accessible lens that is focused on prevention and education. Our aim is to cut through the noise and bridge the gap of a post-COVID company – this guarantees higher uptake and opting in of benefits,” said Chieu.

“The digital transformation for some companies has changed so quickly because of the pandemic but these are changes that stand to make a positive impact for their businesses for years to come. This is why events like Elite Business Live are so important for a changing marketplace.”

Elite Business Live is an annual national conference, running on the 11th and 12th March, in 2021 transforming to virtual registration to cater for the business community to pre-empt ongoing COVID restrictions. Jas and Chieu will both be part of the line-up of experts, imparting their knowledge on how their understanding of wellness USPs have ultimately meant their businesses have been able to thrive during the pandemic.
