A strong boost for Nottingham is underway as the UK’s first innovative wellness clinic is preparing to open its doors. The new site will offer in-person support and guidance for individuals using weight-loss medication.

Situated on Radcliffe Road, West Bridgford, the state-of-the-art Shape⁸ clinic is set in an easy-to-access location, just two miles south of Nottingham City Centre and a short walk from West Bridgford’s town centre. The new 1,284 square-foot clinic will boast three treatment rooms downstairs, off street parking and a board room space upstairs.

Launched by Nottingham-founded and doctor-led Shape⁸, the clinic will offer holistic treatments designed to support and complement patients on their weight-loss journey. It will fill a critical gap in GLP-1 provision, providing long-term invaluable in-person support, encouragement and advice.

Founded by entrepreneurs Mandy, Sandy and Saminda Sangha, Shape⁸ is a wellness offering aimed at supporting wellbeing through safe and effective medical solutions. It is the first service in the UK to incorporate nutrition, exercise, emotional well-being, and lifestyle habits with medication use

Saminda said: “We know Nottingham is a great city to build a successful business, and we’re proud to be investing in the place in which we have lived and worked for decades. We also know how crucial the space we have created is for those on a GLP-1 journey.

“In a sea of online pharmaceutical providers, we want to be there through every step of the journey, and help people make real, sustained lifestyle changes. Investing in a physical site in an increasingly online market is just one of the ways we want to do things differently.

“Our new clinic represents our commitment to customer care, support and creating structure and familiarity in an increasingly faceless market. We can’t wait to open our doors and drive more people back to the high street.”

The prominent building was listed by heb Chartered Surveyors, which noted its prime main road location as a unique opportunity for a new business venture.

Nick Witek-Morgan, Surveyor at heb, added: “Situated in the heart of West Bridgford, just outside Nottingham City Centre, the former office premises offered a rare opportunity for an owner-occupier to secure a highly prominent and well-located freehold asset. The transaction reflects continued demand for quality suburban commercial property, particularly from businesses seeking long-term operational bases rather than leasehold space.

“The sale represents a strong strategic investment by Shape⁸, allowing the business to establish a permanent presence in a thriving local market while repurposing existing office accommodation for specialist healthcare use, and I wish them the very best moving forward.

“Bringing a UK-first concept to Nottingham further underlines the city’s growing reputation as a destination for innovative and entrepreneurial ventures.”

Initially launched online, Shape⁸ was inspired by Mandy’s personal experience with weight loss and GLP-1s, alongside managing Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Having tried every diet imaginable, she found weight-loss medication to be transformative, but lacking in long-term support and wider care

Shape⁸ is currently operating online with its team of licensed and experienced pharmacists, who have more than 15 years of experience in the online medical sector. It now has plans to expand its wellness offering, with additional products set to be offered in the near future.
