IP Performance launches Cyber Breach Workshops to boost cyber resilience for South West businesses
IP Performance, a leading network infrastructure and cyber security service provider has announced the launch of a new series of Cyber Breach Workshops designed to equip South West businesses with the skills and knowledge needed to respond to the evolving cyber threat landscape.
The Cyber Breach Workshops provide businesses with practical strategies to identify vulnerabilities, respond effectively to cyber incidents, and enhance overall cyber security posture. The initiative is in response to the growing number of threats the region is facing, with over 3,000 incidents of cyber-enabled crime reported in 2024, leading to total financial losses of £73.3 million.
The workshops, offered in-person or remotely, are guided by the NIS cyber security regulations and provide businesses with comprehensive training and guidance of designing response procedures for when a cyber incident occurs. The workshop consists of two parts:
· Training – IP Performance’s expert facilitators will provide an introduction to the course followed by key elements of the NIS regulations – identify, protect, detect, respond and recover
· Cyber Breach Emulator – The Cyber Breach Response Emulator is an interactive application designed to emulate real-world cyber breach scenarios and attacks. This service helps users experience the chaos, urgency, and decision-making that is required during a cyber-attack
The Cyber Breach Workshops offer a number of key benefits for businesses and organisations in responding to cyber attacks with confidence, including:
- Enhancing regulatory compliance – giving organisations a greater understanding of key security regulations such as DORA, NIS and PRA
- Improving early decision making – equipping senior leaders with the relevant information they need to roll out interventions and make crucial decisions where time is of the essence
- Setting clear responsibilities – ensuring the wider team understands their different roles during a breach by empowering all employees to take individual appropriate action
An on-demand service is also available as part of a 12-month subscription, providing access to the Cyber Breach Response training materials anytime, anywhere. The service features a series of educational tools alongside exclusive access to the Cyber Breach Response Emulator, which can be customised to a scenario that matches an organisation’s specific needs, risks and responsibilities.
Responding to the announcement, Phil Cracknell Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at IP Performance, said: “With the advent of AI and other emerging technologies, cyber threats are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Businesses need to be proactive in defending their assets and recognise that cyber resilience is the collective responsibility of everyone within the organisation, not just the IT team. Our Cyber Breach Workshops will give organisations across the region the tools they need to mitigate risks and respond confidently in the event of an attack.”
IP Performance has already partnered with a number of industry experts and regional networks to deliver these workshops across the South West to public sector organisations and businesses, with the objective of making cyber security education more accessible.
