MBCC Awards Unveils ‘Most Inclusive Ever’ Nominations 

Inspiring authors and corporate leaders are being honoured for the first time in this year’s prestigious MBCC Awards.

Nominations are now open for the star-studded awards, which celebrate unsung heroes and will this year be held at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel on Saturday, November 28.

MBCC founder Zoe Bennett BEM  said the new awards were an exciting development.

She said: “Authors bring lived experience and tend to have overcome challenges which are shared with our community through their nomination

“You can’t be what you cannot see especially from marginalised communities and seeing someone that looks like you in leadership role gives hope and measurables to aspire to.

“Our author category has been added as our editor in chief Marcia Spence highlighted  so many authors are inspirational as she has a publishing house and he’s to be up close and personal with these inspirations people.

“Corporate leader has been introduced as there was no clear space for them and every day they are creating history by the tasks the do and the perseverance in their roles and shows it is possible.

“For the awards it opens up to be more inclusive as inclusion matters. We want to ensure we have a strengthened representational community especially within the current climate of unrest we find ourselves in.”

The two new awards join 12 others including Charity, Entrepreneur and Role Model of the Year.

The MBCC Awards was set up in 2015 with a sole purpose of recognising people nationally.

Zoe’s mission was to focus on people who make a difference in both the business and general community.

Past winners have included Annie Lennox, Sir Trevor McDonald, Beverley Knight, Adrian Lester and Alison Hammond.
