Street scene at Forest Chase

Bellway Homes is racing to fill the gap in the market for family homes, as Zoopla flags up an ‘acute shortage of homes for sale’. Between the chance to save on stamp duty and the desire for more space, the pandemic triggered a frenzy of house-buying, with the number of properties being bought far outstripping the pace of homes coming to market. Now, Bellway Homes has revealed details of some of its latest key-ready family homes.

Emma Jones, Sales and Marketing Director at Bellway Thames Valley, comments: “The shortage of three- and four-bedroomed homes for sale has led to increasing pressure on families looking to find the perfect property. Key-ready new builds are the ideal antidote to this – buyers can be moved in and settled in plenty of time for a relaxed family Christmas.”

One example of Bellway’s new homes is The Huxley, a spacious, four-bedroom home at Forest Chase in Yateley, Hampshire. The open plan kitchen and dining area with adjacent utility room are perfectly suited to family living, as is the tranquil setting. Forest Chase encompasses plentiful green space, with pretty footpaths crisscrossing the development, while a public footpath provides a nice walk to the nearby series of 11 lakes for which Yateley is so well known. Connected to the Blackwater River, the lakes provide scope for sailing, paddle boarding and swimming, while the surrounding countryside is ideal for walking, running and cycling.

Half a mile away, Yateley village centre provides an array of shops, restaurants and traditional pubs, while nearby Camberley and Bracknell further the area’s offering. A choice of excellent state and independent primary and secondary schools completes the family offering.

Over in Oxfordshire, new homes at Bellway’s Greensands development in Wantage are also attracting keen interest from family buyers. Two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom houses, as well as one- and two-bedroom apartments, cater to families of all shapes and sizes, just five minutes’ drive from Wantage town centre. Local schools are well-regarded while Oxford, with its bustling city centre and world-renowned university, is a half-hour drive away.

The Kingston at Greensands is attracting particular attention at present. The four-bedroom home comes with £5,000 towards stamp duty and flooring, as well as a landscaped rear garden and integrated kitchen appliances, for buyers who reserve before the end of September. With an open-plan kitchen, dining and family room, and a separate living room, The Kingston provides plenty of space for families to spread out and enjoy their new home.
