New luxury care home launched in Wales

A new South Wales luxury care home recently welcomed VIP guests for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony, ahead of its official opening later in 2023.

The event was held to officially open the marketing suite at Glenburnie Lodge, in the village of Wenvoe.

The bespoke-built care community is set to open in November and specially invited guests including Councillor Russell Godfrey of Vale of Glamorgan Council were the first to enjoy a preview of the home’s stunning facilities.

Other visitors included representatives from the local primary school, the local authority, and Care Forum Wales.

When completed, the home will offer 70 luxury bedrooms and a range of top-class facilities including a bar, gym, coffee lounge, in-house beauty salon, state-of-the-art technology and five-star dining. All facilities will be ‘all-inclusive’ and the home will offer residential, nursing and dementia care.

The home will create 100 jobs for local people.

Cutting the ribbon to open the marketing suite, which offers visitors the chance to meet the team and view some of the home’s beautiful bedrooms and social spaces, Cllr Godfrey said the home was a much-needed asset for the local community.

He said: “There is a real need for a home of this kind in the local area. The facilities are first-class and I know that the home will fill very quickly when it opens later this year. Glenburnie Lodge is going to be a real asset to Wenvoe and the Vale of Glamorgan as a whole.”

Kate Stephens is the Home Director at Glenburnie Lodge. She said: “We can’t wait to open later this year and to welcome our first ladies and gentlemen. We’re very much looking forward to being at the heart of our local community and providing the very best quality care possible.”
