Beaumond House launches 'Be Bright Blue' charity fundraising campaign

Beaumond House launches three-month Be Bright Blue campaign

A historic Nottinghamshire town is being asked to embrace vivid shades of blue for the next three months as part of a fundraising campaign for Beaumond House Hospice Care.

The hospice, which provides personalised, palliative care for people in Newark & Sherwood, is launching its campaign to raise awareness of the loneliness of a terminal diagnosis and the support that’s available.

Between November and January, local businesses, schools and organisations, will be asked to decorate in blue as part of the campaign and members of the community are encouraged to dress in blue as much as possible.

In November, the hospice will be celebrating with a Be Bright Blue Winter Ball at Kelham Hall and in December, families will be invited into the hospice which will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland for Christmas.

The hospice team will also be visiting schools to deliver talks, educating young minds about the challenges faced by people at the end of their lives and their families. Members of the community can also get involved passing on ‘pocket hugs’, crocheted hearts, which are available from selected locations in return for a suggested £1 donation.

Matt Colbourne, Head of Fundraising and Communications at Beaumond House said:

“We are thrilled to launch our Be Bright Blue campaign, which aims to raise awareness and support for our important cause. We believe that together, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of those we serve.

“I can’t wait to see the whole of Newark kitted out in blue, and I’m especially excited to welcome families into Beaumond House in December to join in some festive family fun.

“We hope to welcome you at our upcoming events as part of the Be Bright Blue campaign. We are delighted to have the opportunity to connect with our community and provide a memorable experience. Join us to make a difference!”
