Staff at a Manchester law firm have overcome the elements to conquer Mount Snowdon and raise crucial funds for a children’s hospital.

Battling the tempestuous wrath of storm Babet, which unleashed severe wind and torrential rain upon parts of the UK, 17 intrepid employees from Veritas Solicitors scaled the 1,085-meter-tall mountain in North Wales.

Despite the difficult weather conditions on October 21st, the trekkers forged ahead to reach their summit goal while raising money for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital Charity.

A deluge of rain and gusty winds buffeted their resolve, but the legal eagles were up to the challenge.

The climb took 2 and a half hours and the team’s efforts have so far raised a total of £530 for the charity.

The achievement adds to their growing tally, which stands at almost £4,000 garnered through various charitable events in just a few months.

Leading from the front, Managing Partner of Veritas Solicitors, Faraz Fazal, also took part in the event, emphasising the firm’s commitment to charitable endeavours.

While some of the climbers endured minor cuts and bruises, their indomitable spirit saw them through to complete the climb.

Faraz said: “We knew we were in for a challenging day with the unpredictable weather brought by storm Babet, but we were determined to push on.

“The climb was tough in parts, and the weather was uncooperative, but the determination of our team was unwavering. We were not only climbing a mountain but working towards a brighter future for the patients at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.”

The charity’s main mission is to enhance the experiences of the 280,000 children cared for by the hospital every year.

The firm has a long-term relationship with the hospital and began raising money to support its lifechanging work at the start of this year.

Veritas Solicitors occupies three floors in its Cardinal House HQ and specializes in housing disrepair, financial mis-selling, personal injury and clinical negligence while its commitment to tech-driven processes has led to the recovery of millions for its clients since 2007.

Faraz added: “We believe in going the extra mile both for our clients and for charitable causes like this. In this case, quite literally.

“We wanted to raise not just funds but also awareness for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. Their work is invaluable, and we are proud to support their mission.

“Our team members are not just exceptional at their jobs; they are compassionate individuals who understand the value of coming together for a greater cause.

“Charitable work is deeply ingrained in our firm’s culture. We don’t just practice law; we practice compassion. Giving back to the community is our duty.

“The funds we’ve raised, both from this climb and our previous initiatives, will go a long way in making a positive difference in the lives of children at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. It’s heart-warming to know we’re contributing to the cause and we hope to continue doing so.”
