Office Principles North has marked its fifth anniversary by moving to a new headquarters building in the Midlands.

The office interior design consultancy has relocated to a larger, self-contained office space at its existing base on the established Coleshill Manor Office Campus near the M42 and M6 motorways.

Parent company, Office Principles, purchased the vacant, self-contained, Grade II listed building in 2023 and has since invested in its comprehensive refurbishment.

Known as ‘The Home of Spaces + Stories’, the two-storey office space has been reimagined for the needs of a diverse, modern workforce.

Office Principles North has transformed the building into a multifunctional environment where its people are encouraged to work, rest and socialise in ways that best suit their needs.

The refurbishment takes inspiration from the dual concepts of slow living and slow design, creating a warm, calming workplace that celebrates raw materials and biophilia, and delivers an immersive experience for clients.

The move to new, larger premises comes just five years since Office Principles established its regional business in the Midlands.

Led by joint managing directors, Tina Batham and Gary Tailby, Office Principles North has grown from an original team of seven employees based in serviced accommodation in Birmingham, to a 20-strong workforce specialising in workplace consultancy, office design, and project management services.

Office Principles North has delivered a series of high profile office fit out and refurbishment projects for clients in a range of sectors. They include the new Birmingham office of Shoosmiths at 103 Colmore Row, the headquarters of Lounge Underwear in Solihull and the state-of-the-art Derby head office of the UK’s leading mortgage intermediary brand, Mortgage Advice Bureau.

Tina Batham said: “We are so excited to have launched our new home in Coleshill. It is the culmination of five years of hard work and dedication by our talented team, who have greatly contributed to the development of our successful regional business. We could not have achieved what we have without the support of our clients, partners and supply chain who have loyally supported us since 2019.

“Our new home is so much more than a traditional office space, which is why we’ve named it The Home of Spaces + Stories. We wanted a place where people felt comfortable, as if they were entering their own living room, with a layout that encourages people to interact and collaborate.

“Its design succeeds in balancing the competing needs and wishes of our diverse team, with a blend of functional aspects and showcase features. Every aspect of the space practises what we preach as a design-led, workplace consultancy and we hope it inspires our clients every bit as much as it does our people.”
