Simply RSHE Package Launched By 1decision To Give Primary Schools “Essential Content” For Statutory Curriculum Guidance
A new cost-effective and high-quality solution for primary schools to meet the Department for Education’s revised statutory guidance on Relationships and sex education (RSE) and health education has been launched by 1decision.
To help schools prepare for introduction of the statutory guidance in September 2026, Simply RSHE gives schools and multi-academy trusts 80+ bespoke lessons for Years 1-6; one lesson for each theme for every year group; full compliance with the updated statutory requirements; editable content that builds knowledge and confidence; and a robust spiral curriculum that progresses year by year. Simply RSHE users can also unlock 1decision’s premium Puberty and Conception topics, normally exclusive to the 1decision’s Comprehensive PSHE package.
“We know that in the past a number of schools have not been able to access a full PSHE scheme of work due to budget pressures,” said Hayley Sherwood, CEO of 1decision, based in Stevenage. “That’s why, following the release of the latest RSHE guidance, our team has worked tirelessly to create a new, affordable solution. All resources are fully editable, so teachers can adapt them to suit their pupils’ needs. Early adopters of Simply RSHE before the end of 2025 can access this essential content at a reduced price for their first year.”
Taster packs are available to trial six of these for free, and for existing 1decision users lessons will be added to their subscription at no additional cost.
For 1decision, whose award-winning resources include real-life scenario videos with alternative endings, activities and individual pupil assessments, it has been a busy summer. “We’re also pleased to announce that our RSHE Mapping Document has been fully updated to reflect the latest statutory guidance and recent updates to 1decision,” Hayley explained. “The revised document provides clear links across Simply RSHE, Comprehensive PSHE, Assembly Packs, and Nurture Group resources, making it easier for schools to see exactly how our materials support statutory requirements.
“This update will help teachers confidently plan, deliver and evidence their PSHE/RSHE provision, while ensuring consistency and clarity across the curriculum. By cross-referencing with our mapping, schools can quickly identify the most relevant 1decision resources to meet pupils’ needs and go above and beyond statutory expectations. All options are designed to reduce planning time while boosting pupil engagement.”
On 23rd September (3.45-4.45pm), 1decision is hosting a free-to-all-webinar on Understanding The Latest RSHE Guidance, which will cover a clear breakdown of the RSHE updates, what the changes mean for schools’ statutory responsibilities, and effective strategies for embedding the new guidance across the curriculum.
Reflecting on the guidance, Hayley commented: “It definitely marks an important shift in how primary schools deliver Relationships, Sex and Health Education. By removing rigid age restrictions, it gives educators the freedom to make informed decisions that put pupil wellbeing first. However, it also raises the bar for professional judgement, planning and communication. For primary schools, success lies in sequencing learning carefully, prioritising emotional safety, engaging openly with parents, and using reliable, high-quality resources. At 1decision, we’ve been delivering RSHE resources for over a decade now, and review and refine every lesson plan to ensure compliance and best practice.”
Ashley Leeson, Senior Primary Advisor at The Harbour Schools Partnership who has been working with 1decision for eight years, praised the measurable impact of 1decision resources. “I’ve been involved in half a dozen Ofsted inspections since where I’ve been able to pull out that data and say, ‘well, actually I can demonstrate this’ and they have said, ‘we’ve never ever seen a school assess personal development in this way’,” she revealed. “Overall, we’ve enjoyed a fantastic partnership with 1decision, and throughout this time the resource has grown in its ability to look at things at a MAT level.”
1decision is also driving Lessons4Life, a nationwide campaign dedicated to enhancing personal development education in schools, through increased funding, training and support. In July, the partners held a Westminster event to launch their white paper The cycle of missed opportunities (and what we need to do about it), followed by delivery to Number 10.
