SmartResilience secures fresh investment to accelerate climate risk Platform Growth

Climate change affecting business across the UK

Climate risk management platform SmartResilience has secured investment from the Bayes Entrepreneurship Fund (BEF) to support the next phase of growth and accelerate development of its climate resilience technology.

As climate pressure intensifies and one in a hundred year climate events are happening every other year, organisations are increasingly looking for ways to protect themselves and the communities they serve.

This investment comes at a time when the need to not only to understand and disclose climate-related risks, but also to identify the most effective adaptation measures to protect operations, reduce disruption and strengthen long-term resilience has never been greater.

Founded to help organisations move from reactive risk management to proactive resilience planning, SmartResilience combines climate science, early warning systems and adaptation modelling to turn complex climate data into actionable, ROI-led recommendations. Rather than simply highlighting where risks exist, the platform helps organisations prioritise the resilience measures likely to deliver the greatest operational and financial impact.

The business has built strong momentum over the past year, securing fresh investment, strengthening its leadership with a number of highly experienced board advisers including ex-CSO of PZ Cussons Joanna Gluzman-Laukkanen and ex-Global Director of Sustainability for Mondelez, Jonathan Horrell. With a 100% 2 year+ retention rate and growing list of both clients and accolades, the ongoing potential of the business is clear.

SmartResilience is already demonstrating the commercial value of climate adaptation. Working with Sainsbury’s, the platform was able to support interventions which realised over £3 million in tangible flood related savings in year one, illustrating how better climate intelligence can translate into significant financial savings. In another FTSE100 partner, SmartResilience has identified over £70m in 10 year climate risk, with ROI ranked adaptation measures.

The latest funding will strengthen SmartResilience’s predictive capabilities, broaden platform functionality and accelerate deployment. Expanded AI-powered insights will further enhance the platform’s ability to help organisations anticipate disruption, prioritise investment and build resilience before climate risks become costly operational problems.

The Bayes Entrepreneurship Fund joins existing investors including One Planet Capital, The FSE Group and Endeavour Ventures in supporting the company’s next stage of development.

Linda Coyle, Investment Manager at Bayes Entrepreneurship Fund, said: “Climate risk is no longer a distant concern; it is an immediate and accelerating reality.

“Our investment in SmartResilience underscores our interest in backing scalable, technology-driven solutions that deliver strong ROI for customers and drive meaningful global impact. We are impressed with SmartResilience’s innovative approach to enabling real-time risk assessment, advanced scenario analysis and actionable decision support, empowering stakeholders to reduce losses, strengthen resilience and drive long-term sustainability.”

Harish Pesala, Founder and CEO of SmartResilience, said: “Organisations today need more than visibility of risks after they emerge. They need to know what actions to take, where to invest and which resilience measures will have the greatest impact.

“Climate resilience is moving beyond reporting and compliance. Businesses are increasingly looking for practical, commercially viable solutions that reduce disruption, protect operations and deliver measurable return on investment. That’s exactly what SmartResilience is designed to provide.

“This investment strengthens our ability to evolve our technology, expand our predictive capabilities and ensure more organisations have access to the tools needed to make smarter, more resilient decisions at scale.”

SmartResilience is climate risk management software for sustainability, risk and compliance teams at multi-site operators and large asset portfolios. It quantifies financial exposure to climate risk at site level, models adaptation measures by return on investment, and issues site-specific early warnings before weather events reach assets, helping businesses reduce the financial cost of climate disruption and produce the audit-ready disclosures that frameworks including TCFD, CSRD and UK SRS require.

Trusted by global blue-chip companies including Sainsbury’s, which runs SmartResilience across more than 1,000 sites.
