Swindon headquartered medical device company Vygon donates £600 to local charity Tiny But Mighty
A Swindon non-profit organisation helping parents navigate the mental and physical stresses of having a child in a neonatal intensive care unit has received a funding boost from Vygon UK, a leading medical device company with its head office in the town.
An initiative earlier this month by Vygon marked World Prematurity Day, which raises awareness and advocates for the health and wellbeing of premature babies and their families. A campaign invited parents and caregivers to share pictures of their preterm infants to celebrate the tiny fighters, with Vygon pledging a donation to local charity Tiny But Mighty for every single image submitted.
Tiny But Mighty founder Chloe Kirwan visited the Vygon HQ to share insights into the charity’s mission and the significance of the support it provides to parents through care packages. She said: “Visiting the company has been overwhelming, but in a really positive way. The opportunity to talk to staff involved in manufacturing and delivering amazing neonatal products has been inspiring, and I hope my visit inspired them too. Having an organisation like Vygon support us is a huge milestone, and it’s fantastic to be recognised for the work we do. My thanks go to everyone involved.”
World Prematurity Day is a global reminder of the challenges faced by premature infants, their families, and the healthcare professionals providing essential care during this critical period.
Paul Allen, Vygon’s Business Unit Manager, Obstetrics, Neonatal and Enteral, explains: “The journey of premature babies is marked by uncertainty, requiring additional care, attention, and specialised medical treatment.
