Yorkshire-based entrepreneur Danielle Best has announced a wave of new store openings, bringing a tempting trio for our taste buds to high streets across the region – driven by her equally passionate team of fellow Yorkshire locals.

Mexican quick-service restaurant (QSR) brand Mexi Bean Express, wellness studio and superfood café Kalm as well as kids’ paradise dessert store Charlie’s are all set to expand in the next 12 months, offering a wide range of options to cater for every taste.

The first is already upon us with Kalm’s new café at 49 King Street in Huddersfield open this week. Designed to help people pause and reset, the café offers customers a vibrant menu filled with superfood bowls, artisan coffee and trending treats such as matcha.

The café will soon match its sister location in Brighouse as Danielle plans to develop the site into a full wellness hub in 2026 by adding a fitness studio. The expansion will offer customers mixed-level Reformer Pilates classes as well as its signature Fire & Ice room.

Meanwhile, Mexi Bean Express, Danielle’s fast-growing Mexican QSR brand, has recently started franchising. As a result, entrepreneurs across the country can now bring its fresh, vibrant and 100% halal menu to their own community. In fact, the first Mexi Bean Express restaurant outside of Yorkshire is set to open imminently in Peterborough, taking its number of locations up to six.

Danielle Best explained: “Yorkshire is where it all began for us, as it’s the place we tested our brand ideas, met incredible people and built a community of supporters. It’s only right that we invest in the region as the brands continue to grow, providing Yorkshire locals with a wide range of delicious food options.”

The new store openings don’t end here. Following a wave of investment in Halifax to rejuvenate the town, Danielle plans to expand all three businesses to high street locations from mid-2026. This includes a new Mexi Bean Express dine-in space as well as a Kalm wellness studio and Charlie’s dessert shop.

Danielle continued: “Halifax holds a special place in my heart – it’s where Mexi Bean Express really took off during the pandemic. Throughout that challenging period, the community were so supportive of the store, and that’s something we’ll never forget.

“The town currently has a brilliant energy thanks to their regeneration projects, like the council’s investment in the Piece Hall. We want to be part of Halifax’s new era by creating spaces that bring people together – whether that’s over a bright, flavourful birria taco or a personalised acai bowl.

“Whenever someone walks away from a Mexi Bean Express, Charlie’s or Kalm, I want them to feel happier and brighter. If we can achieve that for everyone, then it’s a job well done.”
