Award-winning consulting civil, structural and conservation engineering practice, Will Rudd, has announced the appointment of senior team members in Glasgow. Through internal promotions, Gerard Carson and Andrew Yule become associates after several years working for Will Rudd.

Gerard joined the practice’s Glasgow arm as a project engineer in 2017 and has worked on several notable projects, including the modernisation of Glasgow Subway and the conservation and sensitive restoration of several Grade A listed buildings. He then progressed to lead a team of engineers and technicians, delivering a broad portfolio of engineering projects across different sectors, and will continue to support the current team leaders and wider team members in his new role. He has a particular passion for built heritage and conservation engineering, and will continue to be a practice champion for this area of expertise for which Will Rudd is well known.

Andrew joined Will Rudd in Glasgow in 2019 as a senior structural engineer and has worked on a number of significant civil and structural engineering projects across various sectors, including commercial, conservation, residential and healthcare. During his time with Will Rudd, Andrew has bolstered his own knowledge and experience both in traditional engineering techniques, advancing technologies and contractor design elements. In his new role Andrew will continue to oversee Will Rudd’s team of engineers and technicians. He will also be a SER Certifier of Design for Will Rudd, ensuring the successful delivery of projects with values in excess of £80 million.

Elsewhere at Will Rudd Glasgow, Craig Azhar has been promoted to be a senior engineer/team leader, with Martin Kelly and Andrew Horgan also becoming senior engineers. Kirsty Walker and Jessican Arviddson become senior project technicians.

The recent appointments underscore Will Rudd’s skill and expertise across a variety of engineering disciplines. The team is actively engaged in a number of prestigious projects both within the UK and internationally.

The team continues to develop its experience of delivering facilities for offshore wind farms and other renewable energy projects, including Moray West in Buckie. Other notable projects include the retrofitting of Love Lane in Glasgow, home to Flight Club, and the recently unveiled AC by Marriott hotel.

MJ O’Shaughnessy, managing director, Will Rudd Glasgow and Ireland, said: “At Will Rudd we pride ourselves on our incredibly talented people and are very proud to announce these new appointments to our growing team. We want to provide exciting long-term career opportunities and we consistently promote from within with many in our senior team having been at the company for well over a decade. We are always committed to investing in our people and it’s extremely rewarding to see them develop and achieve these well-earned promotions.

“It’s an exciting time for Will Rudd as we continue to work on a robust pipeline of innovative projects across the UK and internationally. Our people continue to be the lifeblood of our business and we look forward to a healthy 2024.”
