More than 3,000 businesses across the north east have now been contacted by a specialist EU transition helpdesk since it began operating in December 2020.

The helpdesk, established by the Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA), and operated by Lemon Business Solutions, has provided support to businesses based in the North East regarding the new post-Brexit regulations and the impacts that they have had on the various European business procedures.

The service continues to provide guidance from the agents at Lemon Business Solutions. The agents are trained to provide specific sector information as well as accurate details about exporting, importing, employment and business travel. Expert consultants are available to connect with, in the case where more specialist industry knowledge is required.

Martin Anderson, managing director at Lemon Business Solutions, said: “The past three months and the transition out of the EU has been difficult for northern businesses, and we are pleased to have supported hundreds of firms to better understand the new rules and regulations.

“Our agents have done a great job at explaining the complex guidelines and regulations, and are always happy to help, no matter how big or small the issue.”

The TVCA call lines are operative 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the foreseeable future. For advice from the TVCA and Lemon Business Solutions’ EU transition helpline, call 01642 662778.
