“Designed in collaboration with an award winning team around the proven geometric principles of a bicycle, we completed five prototypes resulting in a production ready, solid, stable and efficient vehicle, enabling the rider to feel in control and with real presence on the road.

“From our formation in 2017, we have raised more than £1m through EIS for the development of the product and we have seen our valuation rise 800%.”

In response to the UK test for future legislation, John Irving said:

“We whole-heartedly welcome the Government’s proposed changes in legislation.
“We established AER three years ago with an unwavering commitment to transform the future of transportation and bring greater sustainability, safety and ease of travel to urban life. We are seeing a seismic shift in demand towards e-scooters as the Government looks at how we as a nation can return to work safely folloing the COVID 19 pandemic.

“Whilst we knew there would be demand for a more energy-efficient mode of travel in the UK eventually, our customer base has been predominantly in the US and in many European countries where e-scooters are road-legal.”
