Town & Country Cleaning

Before the Coronavirus pandemic, most people took Spring cleaning with a pinch of salt.

We’d get rid of the layer of dust lingering around the house or throw out the old banana that’s been sitting in our office desk for a week too long. However, it was rare that people would invest effort or time into a deep clean for homes or businesses.

As well as this, many employees didn’t see office hygiene as their responsibility before Covid. Keeping desks and communal areas tidy was often put down to hired cleaning crews.

The team at Town & Country Cleaning know this all too well.

Lee, the company director, agreed that the pandemic has and will continue to change the way we clean.

“Just a couple of years ago, people weren’t as concerned with hiring professionals for deep cleans. It was more about keeping the place presentable. Now, even staff and families are taking more care to disinfect surfaces and keep communal areas as germ-free as possible. We didn’t see a lot of this in the past, but Covid has forced people to take more precautions.”

Nowadays, normal cleaning practices are not going to suffice. To be able to keep a business running safely and allow people the confidence of being around others – we are going to need effective decontamination.

Throughout lockdowns, schools and universities had to, particularly up their game. Staff were required to take on more responsibility for keeping classrooms clean and maintaining consistency with those coming in and out.

Many had strict regimes to follow throughout the day and proof was needed that these disinfecting procedures were being done. Not only that, businesses all over had to implement strict rules and new procedures that could allow employees to return to work.

Having never had to think about this kind of thing before, it was daunting and often costly for a lot of people.

However, even now we seem to have come ‘out the other side’ in some instances – we are seeing these rules carry over into our now normal, daily lives.

Lee mentioned how they even brought in a dedicated service to cater for Covid-19 and keep people safe at work.

“All the new guidance meant the usual, semi-regular cleans were not cutting it during lockdowns. Our deep cleaning service meant we could offer peace of mind to businesses and schools all over.”

“We prevent the risk of infection by carrying out major disinfecting procedures and using specialist equipment to do so. Even now, if we are not thinking about Covid exclusively – people are still maintaining this conscientiousness to keep other germs and bugs away.”

Moving forwards, many employees have agreed that they will be taking more care to keep their own spaces in the office tidy and clean.

As well as this, it’s clear businesses will continue to take on the professional work of cleaning companies like Town & Country Cleaning. Purely to ensure the standards are being kept at levels similar to during the height of the pandemic.

It’s also necessary at home now that we are welcoming guests again and coming in and out of other venues. Bringing germs from work to home has become a more prevalent issue and so it’s apparent we will be keeping up these tough regimes.
