Construction Consultancy Quantum Consult Strengthens Senior Team

Leeds-based quantity surveying and construction dispute resolution consultancy Quantum Consult has strengthened its team with the appointment of Oliver Gregory as senior consultant.

Oliver brings over 30 years’ industry experience to Quantum Consult, a business that provides a wide range of quantity surveying, contract management, construction claims and dispute resolution services to the construction and engineering sectors in the UK and internationally.

After initially working in the building services and engineering industries, Oliver’s career has developed to span many other areas of construction, including through work with Tier 1 main contractors and specialist sub-contractors, and today he specialises in resolving commercial and contractual disputes.

Oliver adds to the expertise within the Quantum Consult team, bringing extensive experience of arbitration and adjudication, including on heavy construction projects such as major bridge, airport and transport schemes, as well as school and hospital developments.

His wide-ranging experience in engineering and quantity surveying within multi-national organisations, as well as in much smaller enterprises, gives him a unique perspective and oversight which can be valuable to clients across a wide variety of commercial and contractual matters.

Oliver comments: “In my experience spanning both the construction company, as a client, and specialist construction lawyers, the use of construction claims consultants like Quantum can be very cost effective, especially where the consultant has been involved in the non-contentious stages of a project.

In addition, through Oliver’s previous roles at various construction phases, he has been involved in numerous cases of dispute resolution, breach of contract, delay and disruption, time extensions, prolongation, payment provisions, acceleration and loss of productivity.

He helps clients in such cases by supporting them to manage and resolve claims, such as where their validity is challenged, calculating reimbursement amounts, negotiating settlements, the serving of notices and applications, assisting with document management, and advising on issues which arise to ensure all actions comply with legal requirements and contractual obligations.

Operating from its offices at Thorpe Park in Leeds, Quantum Consult has evolved from its quantity surveying foundations to become a consultancy which offers a blend of construction sector and legal expertise.
