An industry-leading food and water testing company is celebrating a double nomination in prestigious regional awards.

Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK has been shortlisted for two awards in the 2023 Black Country Chamber Business Awards, recognising their Commitment to the Community, and their Excellence in Science, Technology and Innovation.

Managing Director Mark Carnaghan said: “As a company we boast the dual advantage of having our headquarters established in the Black Country alongside being part of a global business, which has the reach and ability to support communities around the world. First and foremost, we’re passionate about collaborating with businesses, professionals and industries to enhance food safety for consumers, and are committed to introducing and investing in the latest technology and advancements to achieve this.

“Having recently celebrated ten years at our current HQ site in Wolverhampton, we’ve spent the past decade building, maintaining and strengthening relationships with our local community. We’re proud to be able to give back where possible – including through providing apprenticeship and career pathways, progression and training opportunities, and our charitable efforts, such as our global Eurofins Foundation.

“We’re delighted to learn that these initiatives have now been regionally recognised and led us to be shortlisted in the Black Country Chamber Business Awards 2023.”

The annual Black Country Chamber Business Awards celebrates the business community, with a particular focus this year on talent, tenacity, and transformation – of businesses, their people, and their leaders.

Cheryl Evans, HR Director at Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK, added: “This regional acknowledgement is a testament to our entire team, and their unwavering efforts and commitment throughout some challenging times. With businesses still recovering from Covid-19, and also facing additional obstacles such as Brexit, recruitment gaps and supply chain issues, it’s a joy to be able to take a step back and reflect on the successes that the business and our people have achieved over the past 12 months.

“Plus, it’s a real pleasure that the very real difference we’re making to individuals here in the West Midlands, in addition to our industry advancements that we’re driving forwards across the globe, has been identified and acknowledged alongside other fantastic companies within our region.”

The awards ceremony will be held at Wolverhampton Racecourse on Thursday 9th November.

With food and water testing facilities supported by their global network of laboratories and competence centres, Eurofins Food & Water Testing UK offers more than 200,000 analytical methods to establish the safety, composition, authenticity, origin, traceability and purity of foods.
