End Of Furlough Funding Sees Business Coaching Uptake Increase

The pandemic has left many of us reevaluating our businesses and work lives in general. With the usual day to day tasks put on hold and targets pushed back – many business owners are now struggling to know how to move forward. But it is important we remain focused on the future and prepare for what’s next.

Bouncing back has meant companies are implementing new strategies, changing the way they do things and even rebranding completely. As a result, business coaches like Graham Garman at Chrysalis Partners South are in high demand.

Graham explained that company owners are mainly seeking advice on how to increase sales, improve leads and unlock the potential of their business.

Revenue

One of the biggest issues they are facing is revenue. After months of staying at home and furloughing employees due to lack of work or funds – it’s vital we get back on top. But for many, especially SME companies – this is much harder than it seems.

Business coaches can offer reflective advice that focuses on individual challenges. Many have come out the other side of COVID-19 with a general lack of motivation, but coaches like Graham ask the right questions and work with people to spring back into action.

Lack of motivation

While this lack of motivation may have set some of us back; it’s understandable that so many of us have suffered from it. Now that furlough funding has been cut – employers have realised things need to be done to return to some sense of ‘normal’. Otherwise, it’s a case of letting people go. After the last couple of years, no one wants to resort to that.

There is no magic answer that will help every business in these unprecedented times. However, when you can be approached with the right questions in a personable way – it may bring up things that you hadn’t considered. Coaching will be more bespoke than mentoring or online searches so can really get those creative juices flowing.

Office culture

Another reason people have turned to coaches is that people are coming off of furlough and returning to office life after an extended period at home with not much work to do. Graham mentioned:

“It’s caused some strain on work relationships and people have forgotten how office/work-life really works. We need to remind ourselves how to interact, get into our roles and become part of the company again.”

Values and goals are key aspects of any business. They may well have changed since the start of the pandemic, so getting advice on what you need to be aiming for can make the task a lot less daunting. You can then get employees involved again and move towards a more cohesive culture.

Supporting employees

Graham’s clients have benefited greatly from his advice on supporting employees on the return from furlough. Many businesses were unsure how they could afford to invest in their people and what would actually impact those employees in the most positive way. Before we tackle the hiring process and get more people into work – owners need to ensure they are looking after those they already have.

Loyalty and the ability to carry out their roles will result in new targets being met. That is the way back to the top with increased sales, leads and efficiency.

Could your business benefit from coaching?

If you have struggled with the end of the furlough scheme or have no idea how to grow your business after the pandemic, you could benefit from a business coach.

Why? They will talk to you one on one about what you want to see happen. However big or small your goals – strategies can be implemented to get there. It will be fully personalised advice and you will be able to action any points along the way. You don’t need to tackle it yourself because doing so might see you even more lost than before.

So many SME businesses have already approached Graham and other coaches, so why don’t you do the same? Get that motivation back and support your employees.
