Huge £50,000 Refurb for Two Magpies Norwich

Artisanal bakery and cafe business, Two Magpies, has closed its popular Norwich site until Friday 18th March to undergo a massive refurbishment that will increase dining space.

With seven sites across Norfolk and Suffolk, The Two Magpie’s Group is hoping the  Norwich site revamp will bring the look and feel of the premises in line with its other outlets.

With the Norwich cafe a hot spot for meetings and get togethers, works include replacing the old counters and moving the kitchen to the rear of the building to create an additional 15-20 covers, whilst the installation of more electrical points for laptops will help facilitate those who want to conduct business meetings and work in a cafe environment in the centre of the city.

“Overall the cost of the refurbishment is around £50,000, with new tables and chairs also on order, as well as a loss of business whilst we complete the works. However, the overall benefits of these changes far outweigh the costs,” adds Carl. “It is extremely important for us to make sure we give the best customer experience, which is why we have decided to undergo this refurbishment. It will make the Norwich site a real destination in the city.”

Two Magpies Bakery Group was established in 2012 and has grown from strength to strength. Since its first site opening in Southwold, the company now operates seven sites across Norfolk and Suffolk. It has also increased its turnover from £620,000 to over £7.5 million in only three and a half years, with plans for even more growth over the next year.

Renowned for its sourdough bread and hand-laminated pastries, Two Magpies currently has a team of over 100 bakers, pastry chefs and baristas across its seven sites.  Its central bakery and bake school is in Darsham, and it also runs bakery cafes in Aldeburgh, Norwich, Blakeney, Holt & Woodbridge.
