Kiddies Kingdom Showroom, Dewsbury

Leading baby and nursery retailer, Kiddies Kingdom, has introduced a host of new measures as part of its approach to welcome customers back into its showroom in Dewsbury.

Following the recent Government announcement allowing non-essential shops to reopen, Kiddies Kingdom has adapted its luxury showroom to ensure it can open safely without impacting on experience. This new way of shopping will give new and expectant parents the opportunity to book an allocated slot online and attend a 1:1 personal shopping appointment, where they can touch and feel products whilst still complying to social distancing measures.

The Kiddies Kingdom store is the largest baby and nursery showroom in Yorkshire and was designed in 2017 to help navigate customers through the sometimes complicated and overwhelming journey of baby shopping.

Whilst lockdown has caused parents to turn online for baby essentials, the Kiddies Kingdom team are aware there will always be a need to touch and feel certain products.

Parents-to-be will be greeted safely upon arrival by experienced showroom experts who will provide advice and guidance around key purchases. The 9,000 square foot space provides enough space for shoppers to browse safely and at their own pace, with additional measures in place including increased cleaning and contactless only payment.

Mohammed Patel, Managing Director, said:
“We are delighted to be able to welcome customers back to our showroom and felt there was no better time to launch our 1-2-1 consultations.

“Despite us being predominantly online, we recognise that there’s still value in physical stores, especially in the nursery and baby industry. We are aware that items like car seats and push chairs are a one-time purchase and parents want to feel confident in making such key decisions.

“We have over 150 brands available and with experienced and knowledgeable showroom experts on hand, we are proud to be offering a one-stop-shop for new and expectant parents to purchase all the baby essentials they need, whilst also complying to social distancing.

“We’ve had phenomenal feedback since reopening having already booked 464 appointments in less than three weeks, so are confident this is going to be a positive move for both the brand and baby and nursery shopping moving forward.”

Store Manager, Jumaimah Hussain, adds:
“Our staff are some of the best in the industry and have a breadth of knowledge across all of our brands and advice for parents and parents to be. We have adapted processes and ways of working as part of reopening in line with health and safety guidelines, including disinfecting products after testing, regular cleaning services and Perspex screens. Despite these measures being put in place, we want to maintain an approachable and relaxed environment to create the best possible experience for our customers, ensuring they walk away feeling at ease and satisfied.”

Following a successful trial period, customers are now able to book a 15 minute browsing, 30 minute and 1 hour appointments from Monday-Friday.
