Local Entrepreneur Launches Online Body Doubling Sessions to Support ADHD
Coventry business owner Andrea Daly-Dickson, founder of The KOT Community, a community to help people keep on top of their business admin, has announced the launch of a unique, online body doubling membership for entrepreneurs across the UK. According to ADHD Flowstate, People with ADHD are 500% more likely to be entrepreneurs than neurotypical people.
With over 11 years of experience working with neurodivergent entrepreneurs, Digital Business Manager Andrea has worked with 100’s of entrepreneurs, and seen how even the most talented creatives can struggle when the proper support isn’t in place, and is on a mission to change this.
For a small monthly fee, members have unlimited access to all sessions, with no pressure to attend every time. The flexible “dip in and out” format allows participants to join at their convenience, providing the extra push needed to get things done. The sessions, held over Google Meet, last for one hour. Participants are encouraged to share what they are working on, though this is optional. A timer is set for 50 minutes, and then everyone starts working on their projects.
Mics are muted, but videos stay on since they’re a key part of body doubling, allowing you to see others working too. After the 50 minutes are up, everyone is invited to share their thoughts on the session in the chat. Body doubling works as it encourages focus, helps beat procrastination, and keeps people connected, allowing them to get more done in time-bound bursts.
Andrea explains more: “Earning money doing what you love can be a dream come true. But many creative entrepreneurs are also neurodivergent, and that can make the administrative and operational aspects of running a business particularly challenging.”
She went on to say: “One way to counteract that overwhelm is through body doubling. Having someone else present, physically or virtually, reduces the sense of isolation and provides gentle accountability to help you stay focused. I’m excited to launch these sessions for all business owners who need them, in Coventry and beyond.”
The community aspect is just as crucial as the accountability. Many self-employed people work alone, and the sense of camaraderie in these sessions can be a welcome change from the isolation of working solo. Whether tackling a pile of invoices, updating a website, clearing an inbox, or writing a proposal, members leave each session having made real, measurable progress.
While there are plenty of programmes aimed at helping small businesses grow, Andrea identified a gap in support for managing the everyday tasks that can quietly make or break a business. Her mission is simple: to help more entrepreneurs feel in control of their companies rather than constantly chasing their to-do lists.
