SSO Logistics Ltd has collected three awards for its contribution to the logistics industry.

The Merseyside logistics business collected the Pallet-Track Growth Award, the Pallet-Track Marketing Award and a Pallet-Track Platinum Award for service excellence following a successful year in business at an event hosted by DJ and TV favourite, Vernon Kay.

The awards were for the business’ contribution to the national Pallet-Track network, which enables independent logistics and hauliers’ companies to work together to transport freight efficiently around the UK.

The SSO Logistics team picked up the accolades at Pallet-Track’s 20th anniversary shareholder gala, which was held at the De Vere Beaumont Estate in Windsor.

The company, which has sites in Haydock, St Helens, and Widnes, joined the network in 2021 and covers the WA postcode area.

Peter Draper, CEO of SSO Logistics, said: “We are so pleased to be recognised for our contribution to Pallet-Track and we are proud of our team’s hard work and continued success.

“As an industry, we have faced challenges in recent years, so it is fantastic to receive recognition and to have an opportunity to celebrate our collective achievements.

“We look forward to building on our success in the year ahead.”

Stuart Godman, CEO of Pallet-Track, said: “Congratulations to SSO Logistics on their awards, which is well deserved, and for their ongoing contribution to the Pallet-Track network.

“Our shareholder gala provides a welcome opportunity to celebrate our network shareholder members who have gone the extra mile, time and again, during the last 20 years.”

SSO Logistics Ltd has experienced a significant uplift in business since joining Pallet-Track in 2021 and it has created 16 new jobs because of additional work provided by the network.

In 2023, the firm’s international arm, SSO International Forwarding, was awarded freeport status by the government due in part to the growth it has achieved with Pallet-Track.

Recently, the logistics specialist has invested more than £500,000 in a new warehouse and six forklift trucks (FLT’s) in a move which has created a further 20 jobs.

The Pallet-Track network is made up of over 90 independent logistics companies, who work collectively to collect and deliver palletised freight throughout the UK.
