A Birmingham-based global training company has been awarded one of the highest accolades for people management at The Investors in People Awards 2021.

OTD has been announced as the winner of UK Employer of the Year – Gold (2-49) award at a virtual ceremony, ahead of ten other shortlisted companies.

Assessors praised the training company for its approachable and supportive leadership style, clear employee objectives, innovative use of technology and an effective employee wellbeing structure, which is regularly reviewed and communicated.

The training company, which is based on Ludgate Hill in the Jewellery Quarter, is the only employer headquartered in Birmingham to have been recognised at this year’s awards.

OTD has developed a reputation for designing and delivering life-changing leadership and development coaching programmes since its formation in 2007. It delivers virtual and face-to-face provision on behalf of blue-chip companies including Under Armour, Samsung, Bayer and Allergan and employs more than 120 people, including a team of global business coaches.

It has already been recognised with a prestigious ‘We invest in people, gold’ accreditation by Investors in People, which places the company in the top 17% of more than 50,000 accredited organisations to have achieved gold worldwide.

The Investors in People Awards celebrate the very best organisations and individuals from around the world across various organisational, people, wellbeing and leadership categories.

Each year hundreds of organisations from the UK and abroad battle it out to take home one of the sought after trophies to show their award-winning commitment to investing in their people. Nearly three hundred organisations were involved in 2021, making it a record-breaking year for entries.
