Southern Sales Growth for Manufacturer

Russell Roof Tiles, one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of concrete roof tiles, has boosted its operation with the promotion of Michael Palmer to Regional Sales Manager, South – a newly created role.

Based in Hampshire, Michael has been with Russell Roof Tiles for over 20 years, following earlier positions with Cemex and other major construction brands. He has been instrumental in driving the company’s growth across the South and will now lead its regional sales strategy while expanding the team. His new responsibilities will include strategic direction in the region, where he is looking to recruit to strengthen the 12-strong UK team.

The move comes as Russell Roof Tiles continues to support the UK’s housing needs, producing hundreds of thousands of tiles every week for major housebuilders, local authorities, housing associations, and commercial developers. The firm, which employs nearly 200 staff across sites in Burton-on-Trent and Lochmaben, has supplied tiles for high-profile schemes including a £1m MoD redevelopment in Fareham and more than 900 homes in Wiltshire with Lovell Partnerships.

The business recently launched its innovative Bute3® tile, which has already seen strong demand since its debut in June. Combining the appearance of three traditional plain tiles with the efficiency of a single interlocking format, Bute3® has been hailed by developers as a cost-effective and planning-friendly solution.

Russell Roof Tiles has seen growing success across the South, having been specified across various construction sites in Berkshire, Essex, Oxfordshire, Hertfordshire, Surrey and Hampshire.

Russell Roof Tiles manufactures concrete roof tiles and upvc fittings and accessories for pitched roofing across the UK.  It supplies major national house builders, local authorities, housing associations, clinical commissioning groups and care home providers, as well as numerous commercial projects. The company produces hundreds of thousands of tiles every week that are used on pitched roofing across the UK.

Russell Roof Tiles has been manufacturing for 60 years, since pioneer John Gibson founded Annandale Tile Company in Lochmaben near Lockerbie. The company has continued to develop and innovate since then and is now one of the leading suppliers of roof tiles. Today, the firm employs almost 200 staff across three sites, two in Burton-on-Trent and Lochmaben.
