UKG accelerates global growth with strategic acquisition of UK-based Mo

Builds on previous acquisitions of UK&I companies Quorbit and Immedis, enabling UKG to deliver next-generation workforce solutions from the front office to the frontline

UKG, a leading global AI platform that unifies HR, pay, and workforce management, has strengthened its position as the world’s Workforce Operating Platform for frontline-focused organisations through the strategic acquisition of UK-based technology innovator Mo.

Founded in London in 2013, Mo developed an award-winning culture-building platform that makes often unseen work visible, helping organisations celebrate achievements, recognise frontline worker contributions, and improve team morale. Its customers include brands such as Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Ocado Retail, and OVO Energy. With this acquisition, Mo’s innovative employee rewards and recognition technology is being integrated into UKG Beacon, an intelligent and data-driven employee engagement platform designed specifically for small- to mid-sized businesses.

“Joining UKG allows us to bring the power of recognition to more organisations and more people than ever before,” said Luke Fisher, former Chief Executive Officer at Mo, who will stay on at UKG in a senior product management role. “Together, we’re making it easier for every business to build cultures where appreciation is part of everyday work, especially for critical frontline workers. By combining Mo’s innovation with UKG’s scale and unmatched workforce data, we’re accelerating our shared mission to help organisations create stronger, more connected, and more human workplaces.”

The acquisition follows Mo’s participation in UKG Labs, an accelerator programme that connects UKG customers with early-stage start-ups and supports UKG’s vision for human-centred innovations that amplify the moments that matter most, helping to create great workplace cultures.

This latest UK&I acquisition expands UKG’s ability to deliver industry-leading solutions that address the unique needs of frontline worker-heavy organisations:

  • In 2023, the company acquired Immedis, a global payroll provider based in Kilkenny, Ireland, which accelerated and enhanced the development of UKG One View, an AI-powered multi-country payroll experience supporting 20+ languages across 160 countries. One View ensures globally compliant, accurate pay slips, transforming the traditionally fragmented and costly global payroll model.
  • In 2022, UKG acquired Oxford-based startup, Quorbit, which specialised in long-term workforce planning for frontline and hourly workers. Quorbit’s technology is now part of UKG Strategic Workforce Planning, a platform that enables organisations to forecast staffing needs years ahead and align operational planning with employee hiring and development.

“Our successful track record of UK and Ireland -based acquisitions has enabled UKG to offer industry-leading technology solutions to customers that address the unique needs of their frontline workforces,” said Russell Howe, Group Vice President, EMEA at UKG. “By integrating innovative solutions that were developed here into UKG’s global platform, we’re delivering smarter, more connected experiences that empower managers and employees alike.”
