Urban Green doubles Manchester footprint following sustained growth

Multidisciplinary design and environmental consultancy, Urban Green, has doubled the size of its Manchester headquarters following a period of sustained business growth and to support rising client demand.

The team serves a nationwide client base from Deva City Office Park in Manchester where it has expanded from the ground floor into the first floor, doubling its footprint to circa 4,000 sq ft. Fit-out works have now completed across both floors, creating a collaborative and inspiring workspace for the company’s 45-strong team, with overall capacity to accommodate up to 60 desks.

Urban Green has experienced accelerated growth in recent years across its seven specialist disciplines:  landscape architecture, landscape planning, urban design, Biodiversity Net Gain, arboriculture, ecology and Geographical Information Systems.

The team’s innovative and integrated approach to projects across a wide range of sectors – including residential, commercial, industrial, healthcare, energy/solar, education, heritage, public realm, regeneration, asset management, leisure and retail – has helped secure a strong pipeline of diverse and high-profile projects across the UK. Recent project highlights include Lancashire Country Cricket Club, Salford Cathedral Garden, Phoenix Ironworks in Manchester, PHL Camborne extra care facility in Cornwall and Quintin Boathouse in Chiswick at the finishing line of the Oxford and Cambridge boat race.

Further strengthening its growth strategy, Urban Green became part of Celnor Group’s Built Environment division in October last year. Celnor is a £275m-revenue international group of entrepreneur-led businesses, with four divisions of specialist companies and over 2,300 colleagues operating across 60 locations in six countries, including the US, France and Belgium.

The Group’s companies work collaboratively to deliver essential data, consultancy and insights to more than 20,000 clients, helping protect people, property and the environment.

As part of Celnor, Urban Green now has access to a network of likeminded businesses operating across every stage of the property lifecycle, as well as benefitting from the Group’s £1m investment in training, technology, research and development and leadership and management programmes. The Urban Green team is offering hot desks in its new office to other Celnor Group companies, demonstrating the collaborative benefits of being part of the Group.

Martin King, Managing Director at Urban Green, said;

“Since our formation in 2010 our project pipeline and team have grown significantly, reflecting increasing demand from clients for integrated design and environmental services. Our expanded Manchester headquarters marks an important milestone in our ambitious growth strategy, providing a dynamic and collaborative environment for our team as we continue to broaden our reach across the UK.”

Simon Parrington, Founder and CEO of Celnor Group, said:

“The fact that Urban Green has doubled the size of its headquarters within six months of joining Celnor demonstrates our commitment to supporting our partner companies as they grow and respond to market demand.   Urban Green has established itself as a leading authority in its field and this newly expanded Manchester office will serve as a strong hub for the business as it continues to support and grow its nationwide client base.”
