Abicare to recruit 130 care professionals to support growth

Salisbury-headquartered Abicare will recruit 130 new care professionals over the next 12 months as it continues with plans to double in size over the next three to five years.

Currently delivering approximately 3,000 domiciliary and 70 live-in care hours per week, the long established locally-owned homecare provider aims to increase its total number of weekly care hours to 4,500 for domiciliary and 94 for live-in by the end of this calendar year.

With branches in Salisbury and Swindon, plus Pontypool and Crickhowell in South Wales, Abicare is aiming to drive growth across all of its key operating areas.

It is targeting an additional 1,000 weekly care hours in the South West, including Salisbury, Swindon and Bradford-upon-Avon, 1,000 hours in South Wales from Monmouthshire, Powys and Torfaen, and a further 40 additional hours for live-in care nationally, resulting in £2m annual growth if the targets are achieved.

Strategic recruitment, development and retention of quality care professionals across all areas of the business will be crucial in achieving the expansion objectives, and Abicare has made an immediate start, attracting and inducting new members to its rapidly growing team.

Chief operating officer for Abicare, Matt Hibberd, commented: “With demand for quality homecare continuing to rise across all areas of the South West, we are receiving an unprecedented number of enquiries, both privately and from our local health service partners, for individuals who wish to be cared for in the comfort of their own home.

“In order to meet this increase in demand and also support the Government’s ‘home first’ initiative, we need to grow our team and are therefore looking to appoint a minimum of 130 new carers to deliver a range of personal and social care services to our expanding portfolio of care recipients.

“It’s a hugely exciting time for all involved as we drive towards our overall aim of making Abicare the first choice for exceptional homecare in the South West and we are looking for the right people to join us on this journey. I would urge anyone interested in a fulfilling career in care to get in touch.”

Underlining its brand values and reinforcing its wonderful local reputation, Abicare is looking for those with a passion for delivering great care and a desire to make a difference in their local communities.

No previous experience is necessary and roles can be undertaken on a full or part time basis, or in just a few hours each week to fit with existing work or family commitments. There are positions available to suit those looking for a new career in care, or those in retirement who simply wish to remain active and busy.

Everyone appointed will receive a thorough induction, comprehensive training and access to Abicare’s exceptional personal development, wellbeing and internal engagement programme.

Registered with both the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in England and Care Inspectorate Wales (CIW), Abicare has the skills, expertise, diversity of provision and unique understanding to deliver high quality, bespoke and dependable homecare solutions for a wide range of healthcare issues.
