It’s International Library Month and leading residential developer Bellway is helping to inspire a love of reading with a £300 donation to Pool House Community Primary School and Nursery in Ingol, Preston.

With its stunning development of high quality new build homes known as Cotton Woods taking shape on the former Ingol Golf Club site just off Sheraton Park, the housebuilder was keen to support a local school with a cash donation to cover the cost of new age appropriate books for both the school and nursery.

The money will be split between the two to buy new books and replace popular titles that have suffered from wear and tear over the years. The selection will cater for EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children from birth to age 11, ensuring that every age group benefits from the donation.

Headteacher at Pool House Community Primary School, Mrs Julie Cole, commented: “Reading is exceptionally important for the educational development of the children within our school and nursery and we are extremely grateful to Bellway for its kind donation that will cover the cost of exciting new books for the library, and replace some best loved titles that are enduringly popular with the children.”

Sales director at Bellway, Jenny Bell, added: “With Pool House Community Primary School and Nursery located close to our Cotton Woods development, it was important for us to get involved with them as I’m sure it will be popular with families moving into the new homes that we are building. We hope the donation will benefit children currently at the school and nursery, and hopefully pupils attending in the future too.”

Rated an HBF 5-star rated housebuilder in 2020 (with more than 90% of customers happy to recommend a friend), Bellway is building 152 high quality new build homes at Cotton Woods, including a mix of two and three bedroom semi-detached homes as well as three and four bedroom detached homes.

Build is well underway and the first properties are expected to be released for sale early next year.
