Cumbrian Manufacturer Releases Inclusivity “Playground-in-One” to Address UK’s Barriers to Play

Cumbria-based Playdale Playgrounds, one of the UK’s leading designers and manufacturers of children’s outdoor play equipment, has launched Fuse™ – the first in a ‘new generation of play design’ that’s making headlines due to its combination of climbing, balancing, crawling and exploration in one connected structure. Notably, it’s also designed with inclusive play in mind, helping schools, local authorities and community groups meet accessibility, health, space and play demands without multiple costly installations.

With nearly 800 play parks closing across the UK in the last decade and budgets for parks and open spaces falling by more than £350 million over the same period, the pressure on decision-makers to maximise the impact of every pound spent has never been greater. Fuse™ has been propped to respond directly to that challenge. Available in 1.5m and 1.9m height options – each with three configurations – the system is engineered to deliver the play value of a full playground within a compact footprint, reducing both the space required and the cost of provision.

Selected Fuse™ units incorporate accessible entry points, integrated seating and spaces that allow children of all abilities to play alongside one another.
