Duckhams Oils Drives Into The 2026 British Touring Car Championship with West Surrey Racing Partnership

Duckhams Drives Into BTCC 2026 with West Surrey Racing

The original British motor oil, Duckhams, is delighted to announce a new partnership with West Surrey Racing (WSR) for the British Touring Cars Championship (BTCC) 2026 season. Duckhams joins WSR as their Official Oil Partner, bringing together two brands with long histories of success in British motorsport.

The British Touring Cars Championship is one of the world’s best-loved, most illustrious and most famous motor racing championships. Thanks to a world-first deal between ITV and TikTok, the championship is broadcast globally and attracts millions of viewers worldwide.

For 125 years, Duckhams has been a trusted partner in the world of motorsports. Its legacy dates back to 1934, when W. G. Everitt, driving a Duckhams-lubricated MG at Brooklands, broke the world record (H class) for the standing start kilometre and mile. Since then, Duckhams has supported numerous winners in F1, BTCC, British GT, and Formula Ford, with celebrated drivers of yesteryear like Colin Chapman, Ayrton Senna, James Hunt, John Surtees, and more recent champions including Dan Cammish, Shaun Balfe, Adam Smalley, and Daryl DeLeon.

Nearly forty years ago, British racing star Karl Jones competed in the 1988 and 1989 British Touring Car Championships in his Duckhams-backed Class A Ford Sierra RS500. Karl said, “When I was racing the RS500 in the BTCC, there was only one choice of oil when it came to coping with the incredibly high temperatures of the car’s turbo. The engine’s choice was always Duckhams QXR, of course.”

In 2026, Duckhams’ high-performance lubricants will be used in WSR’s BMW 330i M Sport cars for the full BTCC season. The brand will appear on the cars of Daryl De Leon, the reigning Jack Sears Trophy champion, and Charles Rainford, who took a maiden race win on only his second BTCC weekend last year as a rookie. Duckhams also receives garage branding, digital presence and co-branded activation rights.

Both brands have spent decades proving themselves at the sharp end of British motorsport. Duckhams oils have been trusted in race engines since the sport was finding its feet in this country. WSR has been running competitive cars in the BTCC since 1996. The collaboration formalises a connection that, in many ways, was already there.

“We are proud to support WSR with this new partnership, which brings Duckhams back to where it belongs: in a race car, on a British circuit, with a team that knows how to win,” commented David McLean, Chief Marketing Officer at Duckhams Oils. “WSR run a tight, professional operation, and we’re looking forward to supporting them in their push for title success.”

“Duckhams has been part of British motorsport for longer than most people in the paddock have been alive,” added Dick Bennetts, Founder & Team Principal, West Surrey Racing. “The brand is well respected and really means something to our engineers. They know the history, trust the product, and believe that having Duckhams in the cars is the right fit. We’re glad to have them with us for what we think will be a strong season.”

The 2026 BTCC season opened at Donington Park in April under revised technical regulations that have tightened the competitive order. WSR’s BMW 330i M Sport cars will carry the Duckhams brand across the full calendar as De Leon and Rainford push for race wins in what is shaping up to be a fiercely competitive year.
