Escape to Side Street Manchester – home of the killer Colada

The Colada menu at Side Bar, created by General Manager, Martin Cheeseman, boasts a trio of tempting tipples, including a Clarified Colada

If you’re finding your Manhattans monotonous and your Dark ‘N’ Stormy is a little dull, then escape to  Side Street, Manchester’s new Home of the Colada – a collection of killer cocktails which give a modern twist on the 1970s rum and coconut classic.

The Colada menu at Side Bar, created by General Manager, Martin Cheeseman, boasts a trio of tempting tipples, all offering a unique take on the classic rum cocktail, including a Clarified Colada, a milk punch, which involves filtering the cocktail back through milk curds, giving you a clear, aromatic drink more akin to a classic like an Old Fashioned, but with the taste profile of a Pina Colada.

The mouthwatering menu consists of:

  • Snowball Colada – Rum, advocaat, pineapple, coconut, lemonade
  • Clarified Colada – Rum, Falernum, coconut, milk, citrus
  • Cocoa Colada – Spiced Rum, ginger, cocoa, coconut

Vegetarian and vegan options of each are available; selected coladas are currently £7 before 8pm.

Sign up to Side Street’s mailing list today and you’ll get a free celebratory colada to enjoy during your birthday month.

Hayley Sammé for Shiko Group said: “Everyone knows the classic Pina Colada from their summer holidays; at Side Street we wanted to give this classic cocktail a new lease of life. We’re already working on more variations to add to the menu – watch this space!”

A cocktail, kitchen and music hideaway in Manchester’s St John’s district recently Side Street underwent a recent refresh, returning with not only a new drinks menu but a new look to its collection of rooms:
