Jellyfielders Empowers Level Best Enterprises Trainees with Superhero-Themed Film Workshops

Colchester-based video production company Jellyfielders have joined trainees at Level Best Enterprises to create a series of superhero film workshops, aimed at unleashing creativity and teaching valuable filmmaking skills.

Level Best Enterprises is a social enterprise based in Colchester that provides high-quality work and life skills training for adults and young people with learning disabilities (trainees) from its café and art space in St John’s Street, Colchester.

Louise Camish from Jellyfielders said, “We love making films and telling stories, and when we met the team at Level Best, we could immediately see how much fun a creative film workshop would be. We came up with the superhero theme to allow the trainees to explore superpowers and see them come to life through visual effects and editing trickery.”

The workshops provided a unique opportunity for the trainees to create their own superhero characters and bring them to life using cutting-edge visual effects. “The aim of the workshops was to allow the participants to create their own superhero, and see it brought to life with visual effects – whether they wanted to fly or run ‘as fast as the wind’ we challenged ourselves to make it happen,” says Louise.

Jellyfielders collaborated with a team of talented creative partners to make this project possible. The company expressed gratitude for the support of Carla Watkins, Annastasia Ward, Billy Herring, and the team at Hellfire Video. Additionally, Jellyfielders thanked TWI for introducing them to Level Best Enterprises, describing it as “an incredible social enterprise.”

As Jellyfielders looks to the future, the company is already planning additional workshops aimed at providing Level Best trainees with ongoing opportunities to learn skills in filmmaking and storytelling.

Future sessions will build on the success of the superhero workshops, exploring new themes and techniques that inspire innovation and self-expression.
