West Bromwich-based Langley Business Systems has acquired Hartlebury IT firm, Compass Computers, for a six-figure sum as part of its plans to expand its service offering.

Founded in 1974, Langley Business Systems is an industry leading supplier of integrated Electronic Point of Sale [EPoS] solutions for businesses operating in the hospitality, retail, brewery, garden, and leisure sectors.

Compass Computers was established in 2002 by Roy Everett and Dean Howard and specialises in providing hardware, bespoke software, websites and IT support for schools, care homes, and businesses.

As a long-standing customer of Compass Computers, the acquisition will enhance Langley Business Systems’ offering and enable the business to provide additional services for existing customers and expand into new markets.

The acquisition will seamlessly add to our product offering while also supporting our growth strategy by enabling access to new markets.

“Despite some of the challenges Covid-19 threw our way in 2020, we are excited to be starting 2021 by continuing our expansion and are looking forward to working closely with Roy Everett and his team and delivering even more value to our customer relationships.”

Roy Everett, managing director of Compass Computers, said: “The sale of Compass Computers to Langley Business Systems is an incredibly exciting opportunity for both companies as there are many obvious synergies between us.

Following the acquisition, Langley Business Systems and Compass Computing will operate as two separate entities under the new name of ‘Langley Compass Group’. Compass Computers managing director Roy Everett will stay on in a consultancy role for an interim period.
