Nera Capital Onboards New £50 Million Funder, Appointed as Asset Manager.

Robin Grant, Chief Financial Officer at Nera Capital

Litigation finance platform Nera Capital has onboarded a new South America-based funding partner committing £50 million of capital across litigation finance and legal assets, as demand for funding from law firms continues to rise.

Nera Capital has been appointed as asset manager for the funds, with capital being allocated across a range of UK-based claims.

The firm will now be responsible for underwriting, structuring, deployment and ongoing management of the funded portfolio, leveraging its established investment criteria and disciplined risk management framework. The capital will be deployed into carefully selected legal assets.

Nera Capital welcomed the appointment, reflecting on the funding partner’s “extensive track record” in originating, evaluating, structuring and executing high-yielding special situations investments that are uncorrelated to traditional asset classes, including litigation financing in South America.

Robin Grant, CFO at Nera Capital, said:

“We are delighted to welcome this new funding partner and to be appointed as asset manager for this mandate.

“Our partner’s experience in complex special situations investing aligns closely with Nera’s disciplined approach to litigation finance.

“This commitment further strengthens our platform and supports our ability to deliver attractive, risk-adjusted returns for our investment partners.”

The announcement reflects continued investor confidence in Nera Capital, which has established a reputation in underwriting discipline and portfolio management capabilities, as well as growing institutional interest in litigation finance as a differentiated alternative asset class.

Aisling Byrne, Director at Nera Capital, added:

“Our new funding partner brings a unique combination of financial and legal expertise, and we are proud to announce the next phase of our relationship with their team.

“To have them bring Nera Capital onboard as asset manager reflects a continued international confidence in our ability to identify viable claims and manage them through to resolution.”
