Online disruptor platform instaENG has received national recognition for its impressive growth in its first year of operation after securing the coveted ‘best newcomer’ prize at the Retail Fraud Awards.

The ceremony, held after the annual Retail Risk conference in Leicester on Thursday (December 2), celebrated the very best the industry had to offer, including the most exciting new solution to enter the retail risk and loss prevention arena in the last two years.

instaENG’s unique functionalities have been making waves in the industry since its launch in January 2021 and has now been rubberstamped with this highly sought-after award.

Launched as a major disruptor to the electronic security industry, instaENG boasts a specific set of bid management tools, smart algorithms and a user-friendly interface where customers can post security engineering jobs which businesses or sole traders can then directly bid for.

The brand has also attracted attention for its bold statements and light-hearted stunts, taking on the “industry dinosaurs” and the “geriatric” closed-shop tender processes they use.

Retail Risk attendees were treated to a live ‘geriatric tender race’ which tastefully brought to life the slow and antiquated tender processes which most customers get sucked into, using huge amounts of time and not producing results.

With instaENG, each job automatically generates three bids for work, removing the need for a tender process and creating average savings of 32 per cent.

Nigel Williamson, business development manager at instaENG, who picked up the award, said: “We are thrilled to have been recognised in this category alongside some big names in the industry.

“It has been a whirlwind of a year and we are thrilled at the success and growth we have had following our launch. This award is the cherry on top of a fantastic evening. It demonstrates our hard work and really showcases that the industry is open to some young, dynamic and fresh ‘new kids on the block’.”

“Despite the electronic security industry being the most technologically-advanced in the sector, purchasing procedures within it have not changed for more than 30 years. We are incredibly passionate about driving the industry forward and being a part of the much-needed change customers are so clearly yearning for has been wonderful.

“We have some exciting new development happening in the new year and cannot wait to bring this to our new customers and help drive the industry forward as quickly as we can.”

Within just months of its launch, instaENG had already secured business worth £2 million and has a growing list of blue-chip clients across the country including Travis Perkins, David Lloyd Leisure, Keyline, Kiasu and City Plumbing.
