A Stockport business has donated crucial equipment to The Hideaway, a not-for-profit helping people from all walks of life with everything from foodbanks to meals for children and wellbeing calls to check in with residents.

As we start to see the green shoots of returning back to normal life, the work to repair the damage of the pandemic begins – and it’s the disadvantaged families in the community that will need the most support.

Partington-based charity, The Hideaway is a not-for-profit organisation offering support to families and residents locally through its educational play facility and cafe.

When the pandemic hit, The Hideaway pivoted its service and started to operate as The Hope Centre, acting as a response hub for the community, providing thousands of food parcels, hot meals, packed lunches and wellbeing calls to the local area.

Digital ID, experts in ID cards and access control, based in Stockport looked to support The Hideaway in their efforts and equip them with the best technology to move them forward into their next stage of development.

Over the next few months, The Hideaway will operate its own shop, ensuring everyone has fair access to affordable food, which will operate on a membership programme model. Therefore, Digital ID has donated an ID card printer and a lifetime of support to help The Hideaway to expand its service and continue the fantastic work in the community.

Commercial Director of Digital ID, Stephen Dodd said: “It’s been a trying year for everyone, and we’re always happy to get involved with causes such as The Hideaway. They do a fantastic job in supporting those who need it most, and we’re delighted to be able to play even a small part in such a venture. We hope their new shop is a great success and that it is of huge benefit to the local community in such a trying time.”

Stephen went on to talk about how Digital ID’s products can help more people: “As we move into a post-Covid world, there will be many stages where our technology and products can help make that transition a little smoother, whether that’s our ID card printing for the care industry, festival wristbands for the events sector or access control for moving back to the office – all of which will be integral to opening the world back up again in the coming months.”
