An award-winning Yorkshire manufacturer has expanded its product offering with the launch of its state-of-the-art lifting slings range in response to growing demand from new and existing clients.

The move forms part of ambitious growth plans for OSL Cutting Technology brand Rotabroach, which is traditionally known for its world class annular cutting technology.

The Sheffield-based company’s new lifting category will be available from April and will consist of Roundslings and Webslings ranging from 1mtr to 20mtrs in length, with capacity to hold weights up to 1200kg.

With more than 40 years’ industry experience, Rotabroach has an unrivalled reputation for the manufacturing of magnetic drills, saws, cutters and rail products.

OSL Cutting Technologies CEO Mathew Grey said the decision to invest in the diversification of its range will allow it to meet demand for a more comprehensive collection of safety equipment from businesses working with metal.

He said: “For many decades the Rotabroach brand has been synonymous with cutting technology; delivering world-class products to our customers working in the metal industry both in the UK and abroad.

“Having amassed a reputation for delivering unrivalled safety products, and in response to the needs of our clients for a single supplier that can provide access to all of the products that they need, we are now launching a new range of lifting slings.

“This marks the start of an ambitious period of growth for Rotabroach and the wider OSL Cutting Technology Group.”

Acquired by the OSL Group of companies in 2002 to sit alongside its portfolio of manufacturing businesses with locations across the country, Rotabroach also boasts a strong international client base, including an exclusivity agreement for the supply of certain etrol rail drills into the People’s Republic of China, Hong Kong and Macau.

Last month, OSL Cutting Technologies announced that throughout May and June it will be producing a range of blue coated cutting tools in recognition of the work of key and frontline workers during the pandemic.

Available to UK customers and presented in limited edition packaging showing the message of support, a portion of the money from sales will be donated to local health charities.

Speaking about the limited-edition blue cutters, OSL Cutting Technologies CEO Mathew Grey said: “It is a privilege to be able to thank the local key workers and supporters who have done so much over the last year.

“We have all be affected by the pandemic and we have all heard and read so much about the heart-breaking consequences it has had. The Pandemic really has brought home what a fabulous institution the NHS is and how lucky we are to have this service available to us.

“For those who have been through the additional trauma of coping with a diagnosis of cancer or needing physical health support to know that there is a network there for them is so important and we are proud as a business to do what we can to ensure that support remains in place as we come out of the lockdown and into the new normal.”
