Hydes kicks off bi-monthly seasonal range for 2025 with XPA

XPA is available throughout January and February across the Hydes estate.

Salford-based brewer Hydes has launched the first in its bi-monthly range of seasonal ales for 2025.

Hydes is expanding its successful Vintage range with a collection of historic ales inspired by their original Anvil Brand.

First to appear on the bar is XPA (4% ABV), a blonde ale brewed with flaked rice and extra pale ale malts. It is hopped in generous proportions, with US Cascade. The outcome is a refreshing beer with strong citrus fruit characteristics.

In addition to XPA, the range includes a further five new cask ales of varying strength to be introduced bi-monthly for the remainder of the year including Hydes Mild (3.4% ABV), Hydes IPA (4.4% ABV), Hydes Red (4.5% ABV), Hydes Stingo (6.0% ABV) and Hydes Imperial (5.2% ABV).

To complement the historic beer selection, Hydes has developed retro-inspired designs featuring their classic Anvil Brewery branding. These vintage-style graphics will be prominently displayed on bar pump clips, beer and drip mats and promotional posters.

The design draws inspiration from the 60s and 70s era, creating a nostalgic visual experience that echoes the brewery’s rich heritage.

XPA is available throughout January and February across the Hydes estate.

Adam Mayers, managing director of Hydes, commented: “Following on from the successful 2024 range of classic Anvil Brand ales, we chose the 1960s and 70s for inspiration for this year’s retro selection, starting with XPA.

“Taking design elements from Hydes clips and bottle labels from that era, we’ve created a bold, striking range of pump clips and promotional designs that hark back to a simpler time, whilst the product range itself appeals to all ages.”

Hydes, with its brewery in Media City, Salford, was formed in 1863 and supplies beers to wholesalers, pub companies and other brewers throughout the UK and a pub retailing estate of over 40 pubs across the North West of England and North Wales.
