IT service and support provider, Central Networks and Technologies, has seen revenues rise by over 30% since the beginning of the UK lockdown following a spate of contract wins and demand for additional services in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Heywood based firm, which was established in 1991, provides outsourced IT support and service desk capabilities in addition to infrastructure and cloud services. Its client base includes housing associations throughout the UK and SMEs across the North West and Yorkshire.

Two of the firm’s latest deals include a multi-year deal with Wales-based housing association and social enterprise, Bron Afon, following the expiration of their previous agreement. Central has also extended an existing support contract with Aflex Hose, a leading manufacturer of PTFE flexible hose, based in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire.

Central, who has worked with Bron Afon for 12 years, was re-contracted by the housing association following a competitive tender process to provide a managed service that includes 1st, 2nd and 3rd line support. Additionally, a member of the Central engineering team will be based full time on-site at Bron Afon’s head office in Cwmbran, Wales. The housing provider will also benefit from multiple engineering days throughout the year during which Central’s senior engineers will design, plan and implement all of the housing association’s infrastructure projects.

Aflex Hose has also extended their relationship with Central, following the decision to consolidate its four UK manufacturing operations into a multi-million-pound HQ and factory to improve production flow while providing capacity for the company’s continued growth. Central managed the IT relocation along with the installation of a brand-new telephone system and will continue to provide Aflex Hose with comprehensive managed support including remote monitoring and patching services.

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, Central has also seen enhanced demand for additional services including cybersecurity, back-ups and private cloud from their existing client base to enable their employees to operate efficiently from multi-locations.

Paul Beaumont, General Manager at Central Networks and Technologies said, “We are extremely pleased to have extended our relationship with Aflex Hose and Bron Afon – both of which are long-standing and highly-valued customers. We would like to thank them for placing their IT support requirements with Central for a further period.”
